These insoluble impurity phases or free impurity phases formed in the alloy tend to aggregate on the grain boundaries, and at the same time weaken the strength and toughness of the grain boundaries, becoming the weakest link with the lowest corrosion resistance, and corrosion originates from there.
2. In the smelting process, although the addition ratio of magnesium and silicon is within the range specified in the standard, sometimes the uneven distribution of silicon in the melt is caused by uneven and insufficient stirring, and there are localized enrichment and lean regions. It is directly reflected on aluminum profile products. When there is a small amount of free silicon in the aluminum matrix, not only the corrosion resistance of the alloy is reduced, but also the grains of the alloy are roughened.
3. Control of various process parameters during extrusion, such as excessive preheating temperature of the billet, improper control of metal extrusion flow rate, air-cooling strength during extrusion, aging temperature and holding time, etc., are liable to cause silicon segregation and freeing, so that magnesium And silicon does not completely become a Mg2Si phase, but some free silicon exists.
In short, if the aluminum profile is easy to corrode during use, it is still caused by the low quality standard of aluminum profile during production. Therefore, we should go to the regular manufacturer when selecting aluminum profile. Such aluminum profile will be more secure.
